Resurgens Orthopaedics Physician Dr. Mary Albert and Physician Assistant Cynthia Brand Honored at Hope Clinic's Awards Dinner

Award Recognizes Medical Professionals Serving Uninsured in Gwinnett

Resurgens Orthopaedics physician Dr. Mary Albert and Physician Assistant Cynthia Brand were recently awarded the Circle of Hope Award for Compassion in Medicine at Hope Clinic's Fourth Annual Circle of Hope Awards Dinner.

The event was held October 30 at Little Gardens in Lawrenceville, GA.

"It's an honor to receive this award, and to share in bringing the highest quality medical care to Gwinnett residents," said Dr. Albert.

"Serving the community through The Hope Clinic has been very fulfilling," said Brand.

The Circle of Hope Award honors providers and practices in Gwinnett County who accept referrals and make services available to Hope Clinic patients that need treatment beyond the scope of primary care.

Hope Clinic provides a place for patients to receive preventive health care in addition to treatment for chronic conditions. Gwinnett has a great need for the non-profit care provided by organizations like Hope Clinic. More than 150,000 Gwinnett residents are uninsured.

Optometrist Dr. Richard Reagin was also a recipient of the 2009 Circle of Hope Award. He practices in downtown Decatur with his father and brother as a part of Reagin Optometric Group.
